Right after I graduated with a 2nd degree Black Belt in TKD; I
felt that I am lost and had discovered that there are a lot of
discrepancies and conflicts in its patterns, forms and values among
different masters (each of them have their own say on TKD arts) and it's
very confusing.
There after, I had started my search in an comprehensive martial
arts that can train me in my entirety from virtue, mental, physical,
emotional, spiritual to becoming my personal life-companion.
I have enrolled and trained in Kung Fu and Karate Shotokan but
none of these art satisfied the need of being my life-companion; because
these arts are very focus on only certain entity but lack of others,
that's to say not being comprehensive.
I still recall the first day I met this charismatic and muscular
person in his office in Malaysia while I was doing some selling years
ago. Out of curiosity from a martial arts' poster in his office, I have
learned that he is the person in it and he is a Master himself in this
art of Kuk Sul Do (KSD). He then demonstrated some joint manipulation
techniques on me. I was inspired with awe!! I even argued and tried to
counter lock him; but guess what? ...to no avail. He really knows
his art; in fact to me, he is the art!
Grandmaster Lim also has taught me a lot about life, I still
recall vividly that he once told me to drive slowly and courteously
while I was driving him home one night. He said: "No doubt you can reach
your destination 5 minutes earlier, but you are 50 years ahead of
others". Grandmaster, your words have pierced me and I have learned it
with my heart since then; it shall be my remembrance forever.
Grandmaster, you have my utmost gratitude...although you never
ever request for one, and here's a big THANK YOU from me to you. Thank
you Grandmaster Lim, your WORLD KUK SUL DO UNION has given me a vibrant
life!
